It's Christmas day and four grown siblings are exchanging gifts. The mood is fun and playful as one receives a gift certificate, another an item of clothing, and another a "singing fish". Finally it's Kim's turn but she has to qualify her gift. Because she has been unemployed for some time, she couldn't afford to buy something big and expensive. Instead, she chooses to present him with the "gift of words." Using an item she "found around the house" as her gift, she lovingly tells her brother how a whistle reminds her of his "ability to rally the troops". She tells the story of a time when his ability to cheer her up made such a difference to her. The rest of the group agrees that this inexpensive gift was the most precious of all.
